Nitecore TIKI Keyring Light with Auxiliary UV and High CRI Led.
Torches are something for all areas of life, used at home in case of power cuts, to having one hanging up for taking the dog for a walk, and it is one of them items that will come in handy even as a biker as it is something practical to have while riding in case of accidents or breakdowns at night, or just because you need to do some walking to the nearest petrol station.
Bike use though I did want something small, portable, bright, rechargeable and something that would fit on a keyring, but also something that would last and have varying brightness controls for different applications. So as one does (well me that is) you head off, spend days researching brands, types, and reviewing (like your doing now) different suitable ones, and then narrowing it down, that could be based on price, size, brightness, brand name, and other factors, and then finally buying the one that suits your needs.
Now what if I said there are some torches that stand out as a pretty wicked allrounders ?, is there even such a thing ? I like to think there is a yes to that one, and this is one of the few that fit well in the all rounder category.
The NiteCore Tiki is small enough to have on a keyring, in fact comes with the clasp to do just that, it also bright enough to light up a large area of land (300 Lumens of light), and then it has different levels so that you can just have it as a glow to work from close range (1, 15, 60 lumens). It’s come with a transparent case (also other colours can be brought) which is great to diffuse the light when using its secondary light source (Auxiliary Leds), of which it also have a UV light to check them bank notes are legit 😛 and all this is controlled by a single button. The size thou is what gets me, you can’t help but say it’s unbelievably small and cute and yet it does so much. Having the main light control 4 different brightness levels is just practical, having different light sources is a way to make it even more practical, but being so small is what makes it work for most reasons you would want to own a torch.
I really do like this torch, it does what you need of a torch, but in such a small package which lets you carry it anywhere, you could even clip it on a zip on your coat without looking out of place. I now have it fitted to my bike keys so it there when ever I am out and about. Pricing is just as great news, at just over £20 and remember you wont now need to buy batteries for it, as it all comes as a rechargeable setup, no more battery costs on use, making this value for money. I know I said I like this torch, but it really is so well made and well thought out making it simply a great torch to have with you wherever you may go.

The Nitecore TIKI keyring light offers an impressive maximum output from the primary OSRAM P8 LED and is powered by a built-in li-ion battery. The torch is rechargeable via a micro USB port at the base of the light and features a blue charging indicator which glows whilst charging and turns off once charging is complete.
Constructed from durable PC materials, the TIKI provides a comfortable and steady grip while the brightness levels pack a punch! Weighing approximately 10 g and about the size of a little finger, the keyring flashlight is perfect for everyday carry.
In addition to the main LED the TIKI features two auxiliary lights built into the body of the torch. One is high CRI white LED which is ideal for short range ilumination, such as for reading or camping. The other is a UV LED (500mW, 365nm) which can be used to detect counterfeit notes and forged documents and as a fluorescent chemical tester, a phosphorescent material charger or an insect attractor.
The Nitecore TIKI is operated by a single side switch for quick and easy access to the four brightness levels, two auxiliary modes and flashing mode. When the light is off press and hold the power button for direct access to the high level, releasing the switch to turn off. Double press the switch to enter ultralow and short press the button to cycle through the modes, in order Ultralow>Low>Mid>High. Triple press the switch for access to the auxiliary modes and double press for lockout mode, preventing accidental activation.
