Oxford Products Ltd – Heated Grips.
This is my 4th Oxford product review and this one is the one you all know and use. So if I say who do your use when it comes to Heated Grips ? Yep only one name comes up here and thatโs Oxford once again, no wonder I buy a lot of their products and this is no different. Oxford heated grips are the go to when it comes to keeping your hands toasty and warm, I personal used them on all the bikes I have owned and yes I recommend them to anyone looking for a terminate solution to have heated and temperature control hands that last.
Before I continue thou heat grips or heated gloves is the one deciding factor on this thou, as there is a place for both when it comes to warming them hands up. I have been a firm believer of use grips but when it comes to protection side and being able to change bikes and still keep them hands warm is when you want heated gloves and let’s clear the biggest advantage over grips are that you whole handy is kept warm and not just the palm, so gloves to heads for would be @Gerbing area (more to follow on that), but back to grips.
Grips are great when it comes to wanting them permanently there and not needing to worry if you charged a power bank or have got a USB system set up, thou let’s face it you should have them done too ๐
Oxford are the first name that comes to mind when you think heated grips and there is a reason for that, they cover the grips market perfectly. They have a wide range of units, and price points, and they are made to last, and not just that they are comfy as hell too. I love using the foam over the stock units giving a real padded grip.
Fitting them is really simple from removing your old grips and tracing the wires that come on the Oxford to the battery. You donโt even need to have them via the Ignition system as they offer voltage detection and can switch themselves off when you turn the bike off after a set time, which means real simple to wire in with just 2 wires. Yes great if you can wire up when powering bike thou but not needed. The controller is easy to fit on the handlebars and then you can control how warm you want you hands ๐
The quality of the materials used are great, and last really well, I personally use a foam grip over the stock grips which gives more padding but means I can swap the cheap foam grips as they wear out and that keeps the main Oxford ones like new and will last for many a winter.
Being able to select how warm via the remote is perfect, just switch to full and wait a few mins to heat up and then adjust lower to suit your needs, even at 75% in the winter they will feel hot even through the foam grips I use and my gloves added, in fact I find unless in the real freezing conditions I can use summer gloves still a lot of the time with them as there so good on heating, and let face it when you do have cold hands you find it hard to focus so there is also a safety side from the use of decent gloves or grips.

So if use your bike all year round, through the winter time and not wanting to use thicker gloves, heated gloves or hand muffs then think heated grips, and think Oxford.
Oxford Heated Grips Update :- With winter coming back into force and them lovely cold mornings now in effect this is the time you need either a set of Gerbing Heated Grips (https://gerbing.co.uk/collections/motorcycle-heated-gloves) or a set of these bad boys I reviewed, Yep the Oxford heated grips…..
Still the best on the market, but recent updates give more control over the amount of setting for heat, unlike my older style (but fully working) ones, as before I still love adding foam grips on top of the Oxfords owns system, but now I have moved from the cheap grips to the Grip Puppies ( Yep review of them on this site too) over these Oxfords ones, and with that amount of thick rubber on top the Oxford remain so warm and cosy and I still need just 50-75% setting of heat to penetrate (Yes I used that P word ๐ ) the Grip Puppies and my RST Gloves (Oh the plugs I can get away with lol, Yet another one I got a review on). So if the heat can get through 2 lots of items and only need to use a 75% heat setting, I think that says just how good these are.
I have not has any issues since owning these, they work every time, heat up pretty quick and are reliable to make sure my hands remain toastie, and warm hands are working hands, and working hands means more control of your machine, as so much of the control of your machine is all with your hands. So don’t buy second best when it comes to safety.
