Cardo UK Systems Upgraded 45MM audio speakers (JBL).
Being a lover of my music quality i do enjoy a decent set of speakers. The stock speakers that came with my Cardo UK Packtalk Bold I purchased (Review link below) are pretty damn good, they boast some real quality but they don’t have what i would call that real quality for music listening, now don’t get me wrong they work amazing as stock but they are more geared I would say to being an intercom speaker, which allows better quality from the voice range, and that does show a little when having to use them on the music side.
I enjoy having my music while riding and while the sound is great, more so when low speed, when you start motorway traveling for long times they need to be turned up a fair amount to get rewarded from them, and even then they won’t drown out that exhaust tone, well i am guessing not all 😛
I then decided to update the stock speakers to get even more from my unit, as I travel a lot (14k miles since last MOT) so spending another £100 on a set of upgraded speakers to enjoy all that time I spend on my bike is well worth it in my eyes.
The 45mm audio set is a simple way to do this upgrade, with a direct swap over and replace with the new ones. The larger speaker support a wider range of sounds and even better quality than before with the only down side was I needed to mod my helmet cavity to accommodate the larger size so they sit flush again, which was a simple enough job, and well worth it for the increased luxury you get from this improved sound.
You can really tell the difference from the stock to the new speakers, with more low end frequencies kicking in and vocals range being so much clearer. The bass really does come through and when now at motorway speeds i do not need to increase the volume as much which is a bonus and a half. The intercom side is so much better to, with phone calls sounding like your in the same room….
Overall i would really rate the cost to upgrade, specially if you like myself have the stock basic speakers (33mm). Another cracking 5* product from these guys who set the standard when it comes to helmet com’s…… after all these guys designed it..
