Furygan V4 Boots from SportsBikeShop
Alright, lads and lasses, let’s talk boots. Specifically, the Furygan V4 Easy D3O Boots a name that sounds like something from a sci-fi film but actually just means solid kit for your feet.
First Impressions – Stealthy and Solid.
Straight out of the box, they’ve got that stealthy, no-nonsense look. None of that overly flashy, plasticky nonsense. Just a clean, low-key black with subtle Furygan branding. You could even wear these off the bike without people giving you them funny looks.
Comfort – Like a Sturdy Pair of Trainers
Now, I’m picky when it comes to boots. If they’re too stiff, they’re a pain on and off the bike. Too soft, and you might as well be wearing slippers. The V4 Easy D3Os sit bang in the middle, that goldie locks zone. They feel solid enough to inspire confidence but still flexible enough that they flex to allow walking for some distance too.
The zip-and-velcro closure is really well made. No faffing around with laces or struggling to get your feet in and out. Just use the dial and tighten them up, strap down, and you’re good to go. If you ride daily, this is a game-changer and for lazy people like me who really hate laces this is perfect.
Protection – D3O Doing Its Thing
Furygan have chucked in D3O armour around the ankles, which, if you’re not familiar, is that clever material that stays soft until impact—at which point it goes rock solid and saves your bones. I have upgraded all my bike gear to this, and my jacket to teh ghost version of the D30 for that extra flex 🙂 You’ve also got reinforcement in all the right places: toe box, heel, and shifter zone. I’ve given these a proper workout, and they definitely feel up to the job if things go pear-shaped.
Waterproofing – Or Close Enough
Now, Furygan doesn’t sell these as fully waterproof, but after a solid downpour so far my feet were still dry. I wouldn’t go wading through a river in them, but for standard UK drizzle? They gonna hold up fine, plus for my use which is summer time use its idea, as I still have my full gortex boots if I know it will be raining.
Grip and Feel – No Slipping About
The soles are grippy without being too chunky, so you get a good feel on the pegs. Some boots feel like you’re riding in trainers, but these keep things are precise, which is ideal if you’re filtering through traffic or doing a bit of spirited riding, but this I can see will be the only let down, the thickness of the soles are not too thick like my Sidi, which means I can’t see this lasting a huge time when walking in them so much like I do.
Ok so final verdict – Solid Boots for Everyday Riders.
For around the £100-£130 mark, the Furygan V4 Easy D3Os are cracking value. They’re comfortable, protective, and easy to live with. If you’re after an everyday boot that won’t let you down (or make you look like a Power Ranger), these are well worth a look. So would I recommend them? Absolutely for value for money they are great.
