Insta 360 R

Insta 360 R duel lens camera system.

Well things did not work out to well with my past purchase of the Insta 360 R Twin pack. I ordered this a while ago and was really excited when it arrived as I have been thinking of creating some new footage and reviews but in 360, but sorry to say that it’s not going to work out that way.

After testing the camera and then after ordering bike and helmet mounts (doesn’t come with the stock version) I then did a test video…. and then after a hour I went to stop it recording and noticed it was on a solid red light and not flashing. I checked the memory card it had managed to record for just about 20 minutes of footage. So i tried recording again and while checking it this time it lasted all of 14 mins worth of recording and then an overheating error appeared on the screen (as in photos attached).

Thinking maybe I am doing something wrong (I like to be sure when test and then posting reviews), so i did some checks online and it seems to be a common issue with them but normally they hold out for a good 45 mins before any issues, some ppl have even come to the degree of fitting heat sinks to the camera or removing the battery and powering it via a power bank, which is what i tried for a 3rd attempted which came back with a the same error after 18 mins and it had a long cool down time before i did this.

Needless to say this is not great for a camera and if it could not do its basic function it would be no use for me 🙁 so I thought I best contact the supplier with this information and post them the videos of my tests showing what really happened, so which they said to return it for a refund or replacement, for me it had to be a refund due to the fact of other feedback from others saying similar issues they had.

So being annoyed as I was now at a financial loss as I purchased a few thing for the camera (brackets), and i sold my go pro cheap to fund the upgrade, at least the shop I bought it from accepted the return without issue, but at my postage costs of £9 special del to cover it in case as its a £400 cam setup….. I have now ended up going back to Go Pro and got the hero 9 black now and having no issues, just wish I had a 360 cam thou for my videos still.
