Muc Off Bike Cleaner 5L and cleaning spoke brush.
Wanting to find something that would help and make my job of cleaning my bike easier I wanted something that I could spray and leave on and then rinse off and would clean my bike well. Doing my due diligence I did some research online and one of the names that kept coming up was Muc-Off and their nano tech cleaning products.
Now looking into what been said about them I thought they could be the one to try but they are not the cheapest cleaning solution out there, but with all the raving reviews seemed worth trying. So I decided to go LARGE or go home, and ordered in bulk and brought myself 10 litres of the good stuff I remember thinking this stuff better work good or I just wasted a shed load of money buying to test to review.
Well a couple of days later it arrived :). Now if you know me personally, then you will know cleaning my bike is something I will do daily, every ride I will re clean the bike and make sure she all really and lubed for next time. So I had to bite the OCD and refuse to clean the bike for a week to make sure it would get dirty enough to warrant a proper cleaning solution over a quick cleaning product that I currently use.
So just over a week of use she was dirty enough and ready for a test, so I rinsed the bike down with cold water (never use hot water as this can make any salt from the roads penetrate deeper into the bike and cause more issues later on), I then filled up my pressure spray bottle with this neon pink Muc-Off cleaner and pretty much sprayed my entire bike with a coating of foamy pink lather 🙂 it looked rather good I will say. Anyways leaving this on for a few minutes (2-4 I believe they say) and then either rinse off again or use their brush (which I also have brought) too remove any stubborn marks like wheels (which is why I brought the duel headed brush for this reason) and then wipe and rinse off. So after a quick scrub on my wheels and other areas were grease and grim was a little more than I would expect a cleaner would cope with I re hosed the bike down.
And that’s were you notice and sit back and smile while all that nano tech gubbins does what its was meant to and you end up with a lovely clean looking bike. Now my bike is pretty much all plastic covering all the main parts off my bike, so 95% what protects the rest, and I will say I damn impressed just how quick and simple the whole process was. The bike looked really clean, and I hardly put any effort into it. Needless to say yep it did what it said it would.
The only thing was I hate a wet bike was I then used a nice new clean microfibre cloth and dried the entire bike over, and then admired just how good looking my bike is when she is clean and tidy.
So yes, Muc-Off bike cleaner work like others have said, yes you pay for that but it’s worth what you pay. It’s simple, effective and if brought like I did in bulk not bad pricing.
Their wheel brush is also well worth buying, as its make light work of spoked wheels due to its twin head for getting both side at once. Wish I spent a little more and brought the full range to test out thou and now review as they seem to offer a solution for pretty much all parts of your bikes and cars. Maybe something I will do later on as I use up these 10 Litre of it.
