Oxford Panniers

Oxford Products Ltd Sports Lifetime Panniers.

Now i have had these a good while but only used them the once but dragging them out for a possible use on a second long run I thought best do a little review on them.

Let’s start with i purchased these myself second hand, as they were something I needed for a possible camping series but never happened but I kept these for future times, and let’s face it they pretty much can fit any bike due to the strap system that goes over and under the seat to hold them on, and then the seat section covers these and also locks onto the straps making it really well secured.

There is an amazing amount of room in these as standard but each case can extend more, giving it plenty of room for near on most trips. They are easy to install and fit with thick velcro straps which as above goes under your seat, and then another set of straps goes over the seat so they are really well forced into place, then the addition seat pack goes over these straps but also locks onto with addition smaller straps to your grab rail or round frame work. This pretty much makes it impossible to come loose or fall off when in use, the addition hard backs make them nice and rigid so they stand out from your exhaust system too, which means no metal rack was needed for mine, not that my exhaust get hot enough to melt them anyways.

As for price, I believe if you brought these new they are around £170 for the full set which is a steal i think for what they are and let’s face it they are more practical that hard cases mounted with frame work I feel, as simple to install, and won’t leave a metal odd looking frame work when you do have them off.

They are light rain proof but come with an additional cover that do make them fully waterproof, so great for all year round use if that’s your thing 🙂 They also come with carry straps which clip onto the bags to throw them over your shoulder, as well as built in handles for quick carrying, the small external pockets make them great for easy access to smaller items. They are very well made and the material quality is amazing, built to last that’s for sure.

Highly recommend these to anyone wanting additional space without the huge cost of a dedicated setup that mounted with racks, and best value if your short of funds a second hand set easily picked up for under £100, so a huge bargain too.
