Polished to Perfection Auto Detailing.
I always been one myself for maintaining and cleaning my bikes, and yep pretty much every time I take my little “Toothless” (V-Strom) for a ride, she will be cleaned on return. Why you may ask, part ocd, and part respect for her doing her job so well and wanting to keep her in top condition. So being this way it been a thing I wanted done is a professional clean to her, and when I looked around there maybe a few places to have it done, but wanting to respect local crafts I know of just the one, and they been on the game for a while with the rep behind them and the posts to show just what they can do even to an already clean bike (in my view of my bike 😛 )
So I contact Paul, who runs Polished to Perfection Auto Detailing, and had a chat online with him about having my bike treated to a good detailing and protection. He asked for my number and we spoke for a while going over what he does, how and what the results can be and different services, from a basic clean to a full detail, for me it was the works, “Toothless” Deserves that….
So I booked it in and all was set, the day came and I took my bike to the location given, and finally met the man behind it all, needless to say was a warm welcome and a great friendly chat, going over once more about what he planned to do and ask if I had any items or concerns, to which I did point out my 2 area of concern….. The first being my cheap china spot lights (lower set) the water tight seals are not water tight, and Secondly was my new location of my horn, as I now gone through 3 horns on the bike, and more likely down to water getting into them. Paul explained he would steam clean this to make sure no issues… He then said that he would advise me now just incase that when picking the bike up to check the brakes, like you would do if you went through a ford or deep puddle, as they could still have some residue from all the work and treatments.
So after a good chat, I made my payment upfront, and then I removed my top box from my bike (insurance reasons) and left it off the bike and made my way home and awaited the phone call to say she was ready for collection.
Well a few hours later the phone went and she was ready, taxi now booked and on my arrival I could notice the moment I walked up to my bike the difference, my first glimmer from the exhaust end pipe which is chromed, and it just glisten’s as I walked towards her, a glint from the sun sparkling. The closer I got I spotted other things like my stem bolt the same, just reflecting the sun and twinkling as It reflected as well. So much was the same but also so very different, the bike was still my “Toothless” but with a new lease of life, the wheels, brake disc, the paintwork, even the area you don’t normally look were like wow. Breathtakingly clean and all looking so much improved from even my own standards, you can say I made the right call heading to these guys. Even the grease were the front sprocket collect was back to factory paint and no grease whatsoever. The screen was like a sheet of glass, the plastics were back to a shiny black, and even the faint marks of the paint swirls had gone leaning a really lush glow. Needless to say I was impressed…..
Paul went through what he done, explained things as I was really interested, and even gave away his secrets on keeping her this way, which of course means I would need to visit Paul again as such, but he did so knowing that he making sure his work remains in this condition longer, and yes I took his advice and ordered already the same stuff 🙂 so I can have a go myself, but I don’t have the same dedication like Paul shown to do bolts and the other parts that I would normally not see or think about. So I will be planning on going back for a yearly top up from the pro, just to make sure its had its full workings done the right way.
So a huge thanks to Paul, and his company Polished to Perfection Detailing for such an amazing job. I really was impressed with the quality of their work, and you all know how fussy I can be….So anyways on route home, as life does it started to rain, and there I was thinking all that hard work and she going to end up dirty again lol, and then I remember that they finished the bike off with a protective finish which should help reduce marks ands stain like from rain, so once I got home and it stopped, I took my new lint free microfiber cloth and just wiped her and she was like new again :O I don’t know how long this coating last, they say up to 6 months, but either way it works, so I already ordered my top up stuff to keep her coated and protected.
I have taken some photos which I have included below, just so you can see for yourself the standard of work these guys do, all I would say is head over, have a chat and get yours done….
