QL Damper Update

I wanted to do a updated post on my Quadlock setup since the issue with the damper failing a few months back.

As a quick refresh on Quadlock system, they are the most known and common used way to mount phones for various vehicles and one that I personally have used for many a years without any issue, but a little while ago I ended up having a problem with my setup (below) and had to contact Quadlock UK for support as my damper gave in and would not lock on my wireless module from them which lead to my Iphone dangling but the power lead only, needless to say I was not to happy but thought this was a one off but nope this was not the case. It happened a few times, all thankfully not losing my phone each time. Below is a link to the video I sent in to Quadlock showing just what happened.

This is where I decided I need to contact support and find a solution as I could no longer trust their product in day to day use, not only did my phone come lose you can also see in the video that the Screen protector (also from QL) cracked too. My thoughts are that the wireless unit and my phone was just to heavy, even thou this is made for this use.

To bring it to today update QL have updated the Damper module to a new v2 design which they sent out to me and I have been testing for a while now and I like to confirm that all has now been great since this new module has been fitted. It has been a while and I have really put this to the test and with some nasty pot holes its taken every situation in its stride and once again all is good.

So if you are looking to connect your phone to your bike and like a system to allow that no matter if its for GPS, music or like me Carplay use Quadlock is the reliable and updated system.

My full setup of Quadlock items are – Iphone case and screen protector, Mirror mounts (plus all others too) Wireless charger system, Damper, and USB switched power lead.
