ScrewFix Oil Pan

Screw Fix (Hilka) Oil Pan.

Simple and basic requirement for own servicing is a way to drain your oil cleanly and tidily and that’s using some kinda of bowl, pan to drain the oil into. I used to use an old oil container and cut one of the sides down so that it allowed a large hole to drain into, but needing more than the old sized 4 litre bottle I then decided to purchase a dedicated oil pan and wanting to wait as I wanted to do the service on my bike I wanted something I could collect today, looking at local places for such an item like Halfords, Screwfix and other related shops I spotted one in stock that was pretty close and a decent price but with a nice pour spout to remove the oil once I completed my service.

Collecting direct from the local store was a simple and quick process and with no delivery charge on the item made this a Sub £5 purchase which is an amazing deal. The Oil pan itself is made of plastic but its that brittle style plastic which you know will crack if dropped or knocked to hard, but apart from that its well thought out drainage and large size (8 Litre Capacity) makes it really good for my needs and on first use it was perfect to stop any mess from draining, being that I only needed to drain around 5 litres from my bike it allowed for easy moving from the part filled pan into a oil disposal container.

Based on how well it worked I would say its a worthy buy and for sub £5 price when collected it makes that even more so, if they would only change the plastic from the brittle stuff to a more flexible one It would be a real steal of a deal.  9/10 I would say overall thou, and a very practical unit.

Chip and cheerful but does what it says, had mine for a few years and does what it says.

Nice cheap way to collect, for me I always used the bottle it comes in and cut a hole in the side of it, that or a cheap £1.70 washing up bowl from Asda 🙂

Great cheap and cheerful oil pan, just do not drop it as the plastic does shatter on these.
