SizzApp GPS Tracker

SizzApp GPS Tracker System.

Updated : – Please do read the comments section for updates as this system not is restricted and no longer support by us.

The last few months with the huge increase in stolen bikes being reported by the local members of the biker community and updates that I also get from working with the Police as well as post I make on the Portsmouth Stolen Motorcycles (Yep plug for my other page I run, so head over and give it a like) the worry of my own bike getting nabbed by some scallywags worried me enough into looking into a tracker system.

Now don’t get me wrong, I protect my bike when its at home. I have a range of Oxford Products Ltd locks and chains as well as anchor point (reviews also on this page), and not just that I also have a full CCTV system that covers my home area, and then I also have a Apple AirTag hidden to on my bike, and then I have a dedicated paging alarm system if the bike gets touched, but let’s face it you just can’t have enough when your out and about and I really wanted something to give me more piece of mind when I am say parked up and my bikes is not at home. Which with some group rides it can happen often.

So a dedicated tracker is what I thought should be my next port of call, and something I could use to also alert me if I am out of range of my alarm system paging system. So I been spending a good few weeks looking around for something that covers this all and something that won’t break the bank and lastly not needing to pay a subscription for (I hate that, I like to buy something and then own it without the need to keep paying more monthly or yearly, but I won’t start on that pet peeve

There are a few systems out there I will say, most around £200 which is a great price, but as above they want £99 a year to continue running, and that’s just a NO!!!! There are also some other ones I have found that do what I want with tracking side but the unit is rather large so it will be hard to hide, others require batteries, so you got to remove them and charge them every few months, but then I found SIZZAPP.

SIZZAPP is a pretty new company when it comes to the tracker it seems, there what I would call still updating there software to get it 100% but I got to say even not being fully bug ridden it still was something I loved the idea off and felt it would meet what I need in time. So as always I read more into this company and there tracker runs with a SIM card on the 2G network which covers a huge range of country’s but this company does not need a subscription at all….. That’s Right, a real one off cost and that’s it, your covered 🙂

The module itself is like a credit card sized product (thou slight bigger and thicker) and has 2 wires that you connect direct to your vehicle battery (yep you can fit this yourself), being 2 wires it takes all of 1 minute to install, maybe a few more if you like me extended the wires so you can hide the module better (Yep one for Sizzapp please add longer wires). Once installed you download the Sizzapp app from the App Store or Play store (yep iOS and android compatible) and then register the IEMI number on the unit to the app and it connects your phone to your Vehicle and its running live. (Pics below of App)

You are now pretty much all set, your bike is as default protected, you can go into the notification menu and set up a couple of settings to give you more protection like … Crash detection, Hit detection, Towing/Movement detection. These are pretty much self explanatory and allow you to get notified when you have a crash or hit when parked to a different phone number than your own, also the Towing sensor is great so when someone move your bike the motion sensors can tell and it sends you a message and notification so no matter how far away from your bike you know someone has touched it. This feature is just amazing and makes this system so much worth the cost alone, let alone the tracker part which is what most people will buy this product for, and not only does it tell you its does not charge you ever for it, as said “NO extra bills” Not only does it do this lot it also has basic feature like battery levels, so you know if your battery is ok at any time, also you can set a warning for this too.

Now I not needed to test the tracker side but I have seen it show my location when I have parked up so I know that side works fine, of course like any tracker if they spot it they can remove it, but thats the same as every device out there. The unit has more feature too other than a motion sensor and tracker, it can also log your rides, speed, distance and even lean angle if your into that kind of thing, so its great as a data machine for your rides, you can also share your rides too as well as checking your speed via the app. It really covers so much, make sure you check their website out for more info thou. As said thou this is still a work in progress and I have found a couple of bugs which I have reported to them which they said are working on (silly things like custom image does not work on IOS but fine on Android) and also Geotag side needs some more refining, but they have said they are working on this and plan a updated app soon. Customer service is best via Facebook or via there app, they do also have a Facebook group but that seems to be slower for support.

Overall for the cost of this device it is a great unit and something I can recommend to other bikers, the 2G network side is something that may need looking into more as it will end in the UK over the next 4-5 years but Sizzapp said they are working on 3G systems and from my understanding the unit SIM card can be removed manually so if this happens Sizzapp may have a new sim you can use to continue there free coverage side.
I really like this product and so far very happy with how it works and the added piece of mind I now have when my bike is at home or out and about. I know within seconds if my bikes been moved, and I can check on it at any time of the day and it won’t cost me any more money. I do look forward to updates on the app and hope they continue growing and providing great biking product to us all.

  1. Just a quick post for anyone thinking about buying SIZZAPP device and have had then concerns about the network 2g side and how long it is planned you no longer really need to worry about that side anymore.

Reading and learning about just how great SIZZAPP is the biggest question was no subscription for me, and that once you brought the unit you did not need to pay again to use the device. This was the one biggest sales question for me and the answer was based on the 2g Network which this system uses, and as long as 2G network was running which was at least 3-5 years we thought would it be worth the outlay over other subscription based devices, well the answer was a a Yes to that….

But it now going to be even better knowing that it now heading that the 2G network will remain active till at least 2033 making the SIZZAPP a huge cost saving over other subscription based devices 🙂 So if this question has been your concern, you don’t need to worry anymore, as you got loads of life in your device 🙂

  2. New update : –

As you may know by now I have recently upgrade my bike to a Honda Africa Twin 2017 DCT, and moving the SizzApp system over to it was a breeze. As before with fitting side its just a case of removing the unit itself (2 wires + & -) and then relocating the unit into the new bike.

This time I did mount it in a less sensitive area for the unit to be knocked so I contacted the guys at SIzzApp and ask if they could knock the unit sensitivity up, which was done the same day and now all is up and running like before. I will say it still works so great that I decided to for go the install of a tradition alarm system, as the movement side works so reliable I honestly don’t need it. Yes you could argue that the noise from a alarm going off is a deterrent but I seen so many people walk past when alarm go off as its a day to day event for people now with alarms failing or owners forgetting to turn it off, but I do carry a BigBoss lock which does have a motion alarm anyways if I park her away from home.

  3. Lets add a new update as a new welcomed feature been added this week and its been a god send for me today. Service Mode….. Allows you to disable any notification of movement and knocks for a preset time up to 24 hours.

Really useful for times like today when i have been doing a full service on the bike and normally every 20 mins i would set my movement alert side off with a alarm to my phone…. not any more thou just a quick log in to my app, switch on the service mode when i am working on the bike for a few hours and off i go working on it and then it switches it self back on after the time, or like me switch it on for the day and manually switch it on when your finished for the night allowing you to have that piece of mind your bikes now safe and will alert you to someone touching it. What a device ah…..

  4. Further Update – 21 Sept 2023
They have released a software update which now limits the unit to only 50 sms and 50 calls for notifications to you, this now means if you go over this you loss function of being notified by this method now which is not great for the end user.

Thinking of how many a average person who uses there bike for work is 2 messages a day, so thats 60 odd a month, which means they will go over the limit now.
SizzApp have said that their average customer uses 10-15 SMS a month but when asked if that is the case why are they limiting end users then they refused to respond, in fact when I posted this onto their own FB community group my posting was restricted and unable to post further due to the questions i have asked them about this new update.
Very unprofessional I will say, thou this does not effect me personally it will effect others and whats more annoying is this now the first of other restriction they will put in place down the line, and let face it they always said that they would be a life time free service, but if you use up these 50 SMS or Calls they will not (at current time) allow any more for that current month again restricting the use of there device now.

So whats next to come ?
