Time for a new review and this time I am going to go over my SJCAM M20+ helmet cam I use for my videos on this and my youtube channel.
Now with using a helmet cam to capture my footage there is just so many different cam’s now out there and I am guessing we all stick to what we know and trust. I spent hundreds on GoPro system and they just so fussy with the memory cards its unreal, so much so I gave up and went back to the tried and tested SJCam systems. I use to have the older M10+ which I will say was an amazing cam, it had the profile off the GoPro sessions, so cube like and small, and could fit anywhere, but before I had my new bike and the channels I now post too, I used it only for holidays, and then when the iPhone arrived that was waterproof I hardly used it.
Anyways back to the M20 which is the upgraded version with they say 4k video (but is interpolated so not true 4k), but If you’re after a small, lightweight camera with stabilisation for mounting on your bike then you won’t go far wrong with the M20 unit, it comes with evert adapter you need to mount it to pretty much any surface, plus a waterproof housings. It’s also allows you to swap out batteries, and add a bluetooth remote which I found pointless for my use, the one downside for me is no external mic, this could be useful for better voice recording specially when using the waterproof case. What also a huge bonus is the 1.5 inch screen that it uses, makes life so easy for setting it up, for me I use the standard 1080p and 60fps which as you may see from my videos comes out perfect and smooth.
I would love to try one of the newer cameras from SJCam, specially to be able to have an external mic system as battery pack so I could do more than an hour footage before needing to replace my battery, but I guess that will come in time, and if the channel grows enough to justify the spend. So get sharing, posting, and help me grow, and I may even get lucky and get SJCam as a sponsor 😀
